SUMMARY: SS20 clone is not loading kernel modules

No answers, but some further reading later, and I now can offer the following
advice for anyone in my position: don't copy over /etc/name_to_sysnum,
name_to_major, minor_perm, or path_to_inst.  Doing these will only buy you
grief.
