summary: Nis+ Solaris/Linux problem

Dear all

Thanks to all for the response. The answer was as simple as it was quick.
The Linux Box had a firewall setup as part of the default configuration.
Once this was switched off (not required as the box sites behind a corporate
firewall) the nisinit command joined the Linux box to the nis+ domain.
